Lone Piñon

“They make the music of the border into something living, breathing and absolutely enticing.”fROOTS

With fiddles, upright bass, accordions, guitars and bilingual vocals, Lone Piñon perform a diverse repertoire of traditional Southwest music.

Lone Piñon formed to explore and revive the oldest strands of traditional music of the Southwest, an art form that had nearly disappeared from daily life. Through work with elders, archival recordings and solidarity with parallel traditional resiliency movements, they have created an interpretation of the tradition that is full of life and modernity.

Their efforts have brought this music to audiences across the country, from the Library of Congress to the University of Michigan to festivals like Wheatland Traditional Arts and Brooklyn Folk, introducing it to a new generation of enthusiasts.
