Tuvergen Band

Tuvergen Band is a Mongolian folk-fusion trio where the spirit of the horse gallops through every note.

Hailing from Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, Tamir and Naizal Hargana bring the country’s distinctive sounds to the band—mesmerizing khoomii throat singing, the iconic horse head fiddle, and folk lutes like the Tuvan doshpuluur and West Mongolian tovshuur. Chicagoan Brent Roman adds depth and texture to the mix with a bespoke drum kit featuring twenty global percussion instruments and a didgeridoo. This confluence of elements forms the basis of their “modern nomadic music,” seamlessly blending bluegrass, blues, and rock with Mongolian and Tuvan folk songs and originals.
